About
My name is Kevin Buchanan, and I'm a photographer based in Fort Worth, Texas. This much should be obvious by now.
I've been in photography for several years now. In that time, my work has shifted and changed and evolved a great deal. I got my start in architectural photography, capturing the insides and outsides of buildings in and around Fort Worth and elsewhere. Soon, I found myself starting to photograph events like concerts, stage performances, and art festivals. I worked through an increasingly complex series of digital cameras. My work shifted towards more artistic goals, and I began to photograph people in both candid and posed situations. Then, I made another major shift, with film beginning to supplant digital as my medium of choice for capturing artistic scenes.
I have sought to create a distinctive look and feel with my work. Over the years, I've developed what I feel is a strong eye for composition and an ability to seek a creative mood and feel, especially in my almost exclusive use of natural, available light.
Here on my site, you can take a stroll through some selected photos from my portfolio. I do not practice "gear snobbery" - as such, none of the photos in my portfolio are identified as being from any particular camera. Some are from digital cameras (including the iPhone), some are from vintage film cameras. They all happily co-exist. You can also find my photoblog, where some of my current work will be published (linked from my Flickr account).
I am available to hire for my photographic services. I retain the right of full creative control in all my sessions. I consider each session to be an artistic expression opportunity, and due to time commitments to each and my schedule, I am unable to accept every session offer that comes to my door, but I'll try my best. My rates are listed on my "Contact" page.
